Katherine Mutter Austin, 88, of Live Oak Florida passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010 in the Lake City Medical Center after a long illness.  The Jewel Ridge, VA native moved to Ohio then to St. Cloud, Florida and was a member of the First Christian Church.  She worked at the St. Cloud High School, when it was located on 10^th Street, in the cafeteria.  She then worked at Mercury Marine for 13 years. 

After retirement, Katherine and her husband, Russell H. Austin, moved to Live Oak, Florida eleven years ago.  She was a member of the Wellborn Methodist Church, Wellborn, FL. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Russell; four daughters: Ruth Avery and Pat Austin both of St. Cloud, FL; Rhonda Reed, Live Oak, FL and Paula Pack, Calhoun, GA; two sons: Bob Austin, Live Oak, FL and Roy Austin, Talking Rock, GA; two sisters: Ideala Colgate, Kissimmee, FL and Mary Steinman, Westville, FL; four brothers: John Mutter, St. Cloud, FL, Taft Mutter, Kissimmee, FL, David Mutter, Ocala, FL, and Pete Mutter, Westville, FL; sixteen Grandchildren and thirteen Great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Katherine’s name, be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Suwannee Sheriff’s Youth Boys Ranch, Live Oak, FL 32060.
