On September 11th, 2018 American Legion Post 80 of St. Cloud conducted a ceremony to honor the victims and survivors of 9/11. The ceremony was well attended by the St. Cloud Community.

Bob Deathridge, of the City of St. Cloud and 2nd Vice Commander of the Sons of the American Legion presided over the ceremony.

As Bob presented the ceremony, children (Julianne Asplen, Mackenzie Deatherage, Charlotte & Channing Cunningham) placed the rose, lemon, salt and the American and POW/MIA flags onto the table. Each element represents an important aspect of the POW/MIA table. A chair and empty glass were placed by Paul Asplen and Skip Barnette. An Air Force Junior ROTC Cadet from Harmony High School, Sebastian Lemoi, placed the candle and then lit the candle. The ceremony concluded with the playing of “Taps” by Mike Turco.

The POW/MIA table is always on display at the Post.
