Armed Bank Robbery Arrests

On September 25, 2019, at about 0828 hours, deputies with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office responded to the PNC Bank located at 8321 Championsgate Boulevard, Davenport, Florida, in reference to an armed robbery.

Witnesses advised that two individuals armed with firearms and wearing masks attempted to rob the bank but fled when the alarm went off. During the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspects as John Armstrong, DOB 12/08/1988 and Tanya Legg, DOB 02/08/1976.

On October 7, 2019 Osceola County robbery detectives along with the FBI and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, arrested John Armstrong and Tanya Legg in Lee County. Detectives were able to locate items of evidence that linked both suspects to the case. Both Tanya and John refused to cooperate with detectives and were booked into the Charlotte County Jail on  Federal bank robbery charges with zero bond. The investigation is ongoing into any additional suspects who may have been involved.
