On May 14, 2019 at 8:05 P.M. deputies responded to the area of 4636 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway (Sevilla Plaza) in reference to a stabbing. The victim was transported by a witness to a local hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition. The victim sustained a large laceration to his throat and is currently unable to provide a statement. Deputies were able to identify the suspect as, Sidney Tijon Ward, who initially fled the scene, but later arrived at the hospital and was treated for a laceration to his hand. Sidney was interviewed and cooperated with the investigation. Sidney admitted to cutting/hitting the victim with a knife during an altercation with the victim, in the Sevilla Plaza parking lot. He was arrested and at this time charged with attempted murder.
