Board Member of St. Cloud Charter School Wins State Award

John D’Amico of St. Cloud Preparatory Academy

John D’Amico, board chair of a charter school in St. Cloud, has been named a winner of a 2018 Florida Charter Schools Champions Award at the recent Florida Charter School Conference in Orlando.  He is board chair at St. Cloud Preparatory Academy, 3101 Progress Lane, St. Cloud.

D’Amico won the Champions Award in the category of charter school board member.  The award was one of 21 presented by the Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools (FCPCS), the leading charter school membership association in the state.

For the seventh consecutive year, FCPCS received nominations in several categories, including charter school board members, charter school leaders, charter school teachers, charter school pioneers and charter school preferred partners. Winners received their awards at an evening awards reception and presentation.

“Each year, we honor exemplary teachers, school leaders, governing board members and pioneers who represent the very best in the Florida charter school movement,” said Robert Haag, FCPCS President.  “This year, we received more nominations than ever.”
