The City of Kissimmee is celebrating another milestone in the City Commission’s desire to create affordable housing options with the opening of Vineland Landings during a ribbon cutting ceremony held on Thursday, May 23, 2019.
The completion of the 200-unit Vineland Landings affordable housing apartment complex was developed by Atlantic Housing Partners, LLLP using $395,467 out of the City’s HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funded by the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. The HOME funds were then paired with the Mortgage Revenue Bond Program as gap financing and the Low-Income Housing Tax Credits Program. The HOME program is a type of federal assistance provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide affordable housing particularly for low and very low-income individuals. Vineland Landings is a 100% affordable housing project that carries rents and occupancy restrictions for households earning 60% or below of the area median income. The median income for a household of 4 is $65,100 in the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford Metropolitan statistical area. Before a tenant occupies a unit, tenant eligibility must be documented.
Vineland Landings features garden style and carriage home buildings with open floor plans and units as large as four bedrooms; each with a chef-style kitchen, granite countertops, and energy efficient appliances. Community amenities include a clubhouse, business center, cardio and fitness studio, outdoor green space with a playground, a sitting area with picnic tables and a BBQ grill.
Conveniently located on Old Vineland Road, Vineland Landings has easy access to U.S. 192/E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and is minutes away from the essential needs of many of its residents who work in the service industry. Vineland Landings units have been fully occupied since it was built.
Atlantic Housing Partners, LLLP has developed numerous affordable housing communities throughout the State of Florida, with six of those communities located in Osceola County.
