The Education Foundation ~ Osceola County celebrated the success of their Take Stock in Children program when the program was awarded Gold status with the state program office. Take Stock in Children is a mentoring scholarship program that provides low-income students with college and vocational tuition scholarships, volunteer mentors, student advocates/case managers, college readiness, early intervention and long-term support.

The program was evaluated on several key performance indicators including compliance with state policies, holding the required number of student workshops, providing college success coach visits and ensuring all Take Stock in Children Scholars had weekly mentoring sessions with their community mentor.

“Our program has grown so much over the last two years and staff has worked really hard to ensure all scholars receive the services they need to be successful,” said Kathy Ejnioui, Director of Programs at the Education Foundation, “It’s incredibly rewarding to receive a gold rating.”

The Foundation would like to thank all the mentors who make this program possible and provide students with much needed support while they are pursuing their educational dreams. Without their time and dedication, the program would not be successful.
