Students across the Orlando region will be revving up for the new school year with plenty of supplies thanks to the Orlando region Ford Dealers, the Orlando City Soccer Club and Seminole State College. Nine area Ford dealers have partnered with the Orlando City Soccer Club and Seminole State College for a back-to-school supply drive benefitting Title I schools in the area. The goal of filling the beds of Ford F-150s with school supplies was shared among these nine dealers: Tropical Ford, Greenway Ford, Kisselback Ford, Peacock Ford, Mullinax Ford Apopka, Mullinax Ford Kissimmee, Jarret-Gordan Ford Davenport, Ford of Ocala, and Sun State Ford.
Each organization encouraged their customers, business partners and community to donate supplies. In addition to the supplies, as part of Ford Motor Company Fund’s Operation Better World initiative, 100 brand new, free books will be donated from the special Ford Driving Dreams section of the First Book Marketplace, a nonprofit social enterprise that provides new books, learning materials, and other essentials to children in need. Area Ford dealers will continue supporting local education by hosting a reading party celebration later this school year.
Duane Norman, Sales Manager at Kisselback Ford is proud to give back to the community that he, and many of the Kisselback employees, grew up in, “Our dealership is very close to the community, I grew up with many of the principals and teachers that work with the students in this community today. Kisselback Ford is family owned and has always been focused on giving back to our local community.” Kisselback Ford has partnered with many schools throughout the years, including Lakeview Elementary. For the last five years, Kisselback has sponsored Lakeview by providing funding and resources for their staff and students.
Tracy Shenuski, Principal of Lakeview Elementary, expressed her gratitude by saying “Kisselback Ford has always been a great partner for our school and many others in the area, they have stepped in to make great things happen for the students in Osceola County. I feel so privileged to see the benefits that these supplies will bring to my students every day. Lakeview Elementary, our Osceola County School District, and most importantly, our community is better prepared to serve our students because of this amazing partnership.”
