Deputies Investigating Homicide on Packard Avenue
Osceola County Sheriff's detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred in St. Cloud. On September 22 at approximately 3:00 p.m., deputies responded to 4160 Packard Avenue in St. Cloud. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim who appeared to be injured from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Florida Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim is identified as Edward Bano, 18. At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident to the residence involving criminal activity. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff's Office at or Crimeline at (800) 423-TIPS (8477). Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous, and tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 dollars.

Hosted by the Osceola County Cattlemen’s Association, benefiting the OASIS department for the Osceola County District Schools, the BEEF 5K is an event for all ages. The race will begin on Saturday, October 8 at Partin Seed & Sod, located at 5601 No. Canoe Creek Rd in Kenansville.
BEEF (Benefiting Each & Every Family) 5K is a race unlike the rest, running in pure nature, with hopes of a sighting of a bald eagle or local beef cattle.

St. Cloud, Fla. (September 22, 2011) – On September 15, the State of Florida’s Public Employees Relations Commission certified the results of an election by St. Cloud police officers to end their agreement for the Police Benevolent Association (PBA) to serve as their collective bargaining representative. By a vote of 40 to 6, the officers approved decertifying the PBA union. The impact of the vote is to terminate the previously approved collective bargaining agreement between the City and the PBA, on behalf of the officers.

To the Editor: Ok, I may be way off base here, but maybe our City Council has lost their ever lovin’ minds. Have you noticed recently that many of our neighbors have not only lost their jobs, but have lost their homes too? Many of our neighbors would do almost anything for a job to support their family. Times are tough, everyone is holding on to their money so tightly it is screaming.
