LYNX to Hold Public Hearings and Workshops for January 2019 Service Proposal

The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) has proposed making system-wide efficiencies effective Jan.27, 2019.

The LYNX Board of Directors (BOD) will vote on the service proposal at their Dec. 6 meeting in the LYNX Central Station 2nd Floor Board Room.

New service will include Link 709 serving Downtown Kissimmee, Kissimmee City Hall, Osceola Regional Medical Center and Florida Hospital Kissimmee.

Route changes will include Link 21, 37, 301 and 303.

Schedule adjustments will include time changes on Links 8, 11, 18, 38, 50, 57, 108, 111, FastLinks 407, 416, 441, NeighborLink 622 and the LYMMO Orange and Grapefruit Lines.

The public comment period is now open. Comments also will be accepted at public workshops and hearings.

Public Workshops/Hearings:

– Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 5-6p.m. (Workshop), 6-7p.m. (Hearing) at Altamonte City Hall located at 225 Newburyport Ave. Altamonte Springs, FL  32701. Passengers should use Link 436N or SunRail.

– Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 3-4p.m. (Workshop), 4-5p.m. (Hearing) at LYNX Central Station Main Terminal (Workshop) 2nd Floor Open Space (Hearing) located at 455 North Garland Ave. Orlando, FL  32801. Passengers should use any of the 32 Links serving LYNX Central Station and LYMMO Orange Downtown, North Quarter, and Lime Lines or SunRail.

– Thursday, Nov.15 from 4:45-5:45p.m. (Workshop), 5:45-6:45 p.m. (Hearing) at Kissimmee City Hall located at 101 Church St. Kissimmee, FL 34741. Passengers should use Links 10, 18, 26, 55, 56, 57, 108, 407, 441 or SunRail.

Public comments also will be accepted through 5p.m. on Nov. 29 at golynx.com on the “contact us” page, by mail or delivered to: LYNX Central Station 455 N. Garland Ave. Orlando, FL 32801 Attention: Service Change

Interested parties may view the proposed service change information at the LYNX Central Station 1st Floor Security Guard Post 8a.m.-5p.m. Monday-Friday.

Maps and schedules are being drafted and once complete will be posted on golynx.com.

New route Link 709 serving the Kissimmee Connector (Osceola County) will operate a one-way loop through downtown Kissimmee from the LYNX Kissimmee Intermodal Station via Dakin Street, Lakeview Drive, Patrick Street, Emmett Street, Church Street, Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, Rose Avenue, Oak Street, Central Avenue, Hilda Avenue and Main Street. Route will operate every 30 minutes weekdays 6:30 a.m.-8:09 p.m.
