Night Lite Pediatrics Urgent Care Gives Back for its 2nd Annual Asthma & Allergy Awareness Health Fair

Night Lite Pediatrics Urgent Care (NLP) is pleased to announce their 2nd Annual Asthma & Allergy Awareness Health Fair in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida (BGCCF).

In observance of Asthma and Allergy Awareness month in May, Night Lite Pediatrics Urgent Care will be hosting a free health fair on Saturday, May 18th from 2 pm – 6 pm, at their Apopka, Kissimmee and Jacksonville (Beach) locations.

“The funds raised will help support the Asthma and Allergy Awareness Event and will help provide a safe place for our children to go after school to focus on academic performance, healthy lifestyles and developing strong values. Night Lite Pediatrics Urgent Care support will ultimately give our youth the tools to overcome challenges and discover paths to great futures”, said Sarah Johnston Vice President of Development for Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida.

The month of May which coincides with the peak season for Allergy and Asthma patients is the official month where the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) along with the health community educate friends, families, and members of the public on how to combat this disease.

Asthma is a significant problem nationwide, and many asthma symptoms in children are often overlooked or misdiagnosed. According to the AAFA, asthma is the leading chronic disease affecting children, with more than 7 million under the age of 18.

“Over the years we’ve seen a significant increase in the amount of Asthma & Allergy cases here at NLP- it is one of the top diseases that we treat. So, this event is quite dear to our hearts because through this platform we can help to make a significant impact on the patients and community members that have supported us over the years. We are truly grateful for all our community partners especially, the BGCCF in helping to spread the importance of such a relevant health issue”, said Dr. Otegbeye, Managing Partner at Night Lite Pediatrics Urgent Care.

This event is open to all community members and will feature asthma and allergy education from local health organizations, health screenings, nebulizers giveaway, food, and other fun-filled activities.
