Orlando Resident Donates His 150th Gallon of Blood

For 73-year-old James Godwin donating blood has been his way of doing his part for the community. Over the years he has affected the lives of countless people, no doubt saving many lives.

James, an Orlando resident, primarily gives platelets that are transfused into patients within 5 days. Many of those patients are fighting cancer and depend on vital platelet transfusions. He has been giving blood since the 1970s.

On April 10, 2019 he donated his 150th gallon donation at OneBlood’s Michigan Street center location.
