The Osceola County Association of REALTORS® (OSCAR) is supporting the Osceola Council on Aging by participating in their food assistance programs. Recently, with the help of their membership, OSCAR collected over 430 non-perishable food items for the Council’s food bank. The council will use this food supply to provide food bags to seniors, disabled adults and disadvantaged families.
OSCAR’s REALTORS® Care Committee has also adopted a weekly route for the Council’s “Meals on Wheels” program. This program provides homebound seniors and disabled adults in our community with two nutritious meals (one hot meal and one cold meal). The meals are prepared in the Council’s kitchen and they are delivered by caring volunteers. Along with the nutritional meals, the volunteers bring a friendly smile and a few moments of joy to the seniors.
“We are so grateful to partner with such a great organization,” stated Sue Vasquez, Committee Chair. “We encourage everyone to take the time to help those who deserve and need it most.”
