Released By Osceola Clerk of the Circuit Court, Public Information Office
The Osceola County Clerk of the Circuit Court is pleased to announce a new service available to indigent members of our community who represent themselves in court (also known as pro se litigants). This service will be provided in the Courthouse, at no cost to qualifying individuals by the Legal Services Clinic. The Legal Services clinic will assist indigent pro se litigants with understanding court procedures, to ensure that such litigants have meaningful access to the civil justice system.
“It has been a long-held vision of my office to provide this service to the constituents of Osceola County and now in an exciting collaborative effort with Attorney Anthony Suarez we are able to bring this vision together in order to benefit those citizens of Osceola County that need it most. In addition to the ministerial oversight provided by the Clerk’s Office currently, the Legal Services Clinic will provide certain pro se litigants with much-needed assistance in navigating the procedural aspects of the court process. Individuals who cannot afford to be represented by an attorney may become overwhelmed with the complexity of the legal process. This service will help to level the playing field for pro se litigants who do not have the same resources as others” stated the Honorable Armando Ramirez.
The Legal Services Clinic is now located on the second floor of the Courthouse building, Suite 2403.
Opening day for the Legal Services Clinic was held on September 17, 2019 and the regular hours of operation for the Clinic are Monday through Wednesday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Appointments can be scheduled on the Clerk’s website, www.osceolaclerk.com, under the “Services” tab. Once the appointment is scheduled, an email confirmation will be sent. On the day of the appointment, check-in will be at the Clerk’s reception desk located on the second floor of the Courthouse. Guests will be served according to the time slot chosen.
