Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Joins ‘Neighbors’ by Ring to Provide Users with Real-Time, Local Crime and Safety Information

Released By Osceola County Sheriff’s Office

Sheriff Russ Gibson has announced that the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is joining the Neighbors app to provide the Osceola County community with real-time, local crime and safety information. Neighbors aims to reduce crime in neighborhoods by connecting people, security cameras and law enforcement. The Neighbors network already has millions of users and has been instrumental in catching package thieves, stopping burglaries, and keeping neighborhoods safe.

Osceola County residents can download the free Neighbors app, join their neighborhood, and use the app to: monitor neighborhood activity; share crime and safety-related videos, photos and text-based posts; and receive real-time safety alerts from your neighbors, local law enforcement and the Ring team.

“The new Neighbors App is free to the user and will be a great tool for residents to use to help guarantee a great quality of life for themselves, as well as their neighbors living within their communities! I am excited for your Osceola Sheriff’s Office to be a part of the new Neighbors App, which allows our agency and our community to come together as one to share potentially vital information quickly! This will increase safety and reduce criminal activity within our neighborhoods and help in our mission to keep Osceola County Community Strong!!” stated Sheriff Russ Gibson.

Jamie Siminoff, Chief Inventor and Founder of Ring, said “We’re excited to have Osceola County Sheriff’s Office join Neighbors to keep their community up-to-date on local crime and safety information. Over the past few years we have learned that, when neighbors, the Ring team and law enforcement all work together, we can create safer communities. Neighbors is meant to facilitate real-time communication between these groups, while maintaining neighbor privacy first and foremost. By bringing security to every neighbor with the free Neighbors app, the Osceola County community can stay on top of crime and safety alerts as they happen.”

Residents can download the Neighbors app for free on iOS and Android here: https://download.ring.com/osceola or by texting ‘osceolacounty’ to 555888 from your smartphone.
