As the City of Kissimmee has grown, the neighborhoods along the westernmost portion of Carroll Street have become one of Central Florida’s most desirable areas for perspective home buyers. The impressive development in this part of our community, along with the nearby booming shopping district along Osceola Parkway, are some of the main reasons the City has begun the Carroll Street widening project. As this important development gets underway, we want to update you on the major details of the project.
Easy Access to Neighborhoods & Shopping—If you’ve traveled along W. Carroll Street and N. Dyer Boulevard recently, you’ve seen the thriving residential district that has revitalized the area. As more residents join our community, the Carroll Street widening project will create easy access to major neighborhoods and shopping areas. The project will add an additional eastbound and westbound lane along Carroll Street from Thacker Avenue to Donegan Avenue.
More Than Just New Lanes—Beyond the additional traffic lanes, the widening project will add a new traffic signal at Dyer Boulevard and Carroll Street to accommodate the new lanes as well as updated street lighting and sidewalks.
