The City of Kissimmee announces the completion of repairs and restoration on damages caused by Hurricane Irma to the Lighthouse point, Earthen Breakwater, and the marina boat slips.

While preliminary assessments and clean-up to damaged areas occurred immediately after Hurricane Irma in September 2017, the City was unable to begin restoration efforts until the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) completed its review of the project’s scope of work and funding request.

The total cost for repairs was $480,590.63. The federal share of the expenses is 75% that was paid by FEMA. The City of Kissimmee and the State of Florida funded the remaining balance in equal share of 12.5%.
