Released By Osceola County Sheriff’s Office
On June 18, 2019, at approximately 7:05 P.M., the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address in St. Cloud, in reference to a sexual battery report. Deputies made contact with the victim (17 yoa), who stated that Michael Rhum had sex with her while she was asleep at his residence on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Based on this information Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Sex Crimes detectives responded for further investigation.
During the course of the investigation, the victim provided more information and evidence supporting the allegations. Contact was made with Rhum and he was arrested. Rhum cooperated with the investigation and during the interview he confessed post Miranda to the allegations made against him. Rhum was arrested in reference to two counts of Sexual Battery with a victim between the ages of 12-17 years of age and transported to the Osceola County Jail.
Rhum is a registered sex offender in Osceola County, FL. He was sentenced on 9/29/2014 to 1 year and 10 months in reference to traveling to meet a minor. After completing his prison sentence, Rhum was release on 4/18/2016 and his first registration with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was on 4/20/2016.
