The St. Cloud Community Pantry, a non-profit committed to providing groceries to residents in need, has begun generating donations through the Giving Tag Program.
The Giving Tag Program, which launched in February 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work. When a shopper purchases a $2.50 reusable Community Bag at any BI-LO, Fresco y Más, Harveys or Winn-Dixie store, they have the opportunity to direct a $1 donation to a local non-profit by using the attached Giving Tag.
The St. Cloud Community Pantry has already begun generating donations through the use of the Giving Tag. “We are extremely excited to have been chosen by the leadership at both St. Cloud Winn-Dixie stores to be the recipient of the proceeds from the Community Bag Giving Tag program for the month of September.
September is Hunger Action Month – a month where people all over America stand together with Feeding America and the nationwide network of food banks to fight hunger. It’s a month to spread the word and take action on the hunger crisis, and dedicate ourselves to a solution.
“The leadership of the Winn-Dixie Store located at 4855 Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, St. Cloud and the Winn-Dixie Store located at 3318 Canoe Creek Road, St. Cloud are taking action on the hunger crisis by choosing us as beneficiary of the Giving Tag proceeds”, said St. Cloud Community Pantry Executive Director, Tammi Madison. “As an entirely volunteer run non-profit in Osceola County, this donation will allow us to pay for gas and tolls as well as enable us to purchase healthy food items when we pick up food from Second Harvest Food Bank in Orlando to provide to local families.”
