Six year old competitive gymnast, Kyleigh Horn of St. Cloud, daughter of Steven and Danielle Horn, was named the All-Around Florida State Champion with the highest overall score in her division at the Florida 2019 XCEL State Meet on Sunday, April 14 in Lakeland, Florida at the RP Funding Center. She placed first in bar, floor and beam events and second in vault for her age group with a total overall score of 38.075.

Little Kyleigh started competitive gymnastics exactly one year and a day prior to this huge meet at local, family owned Ultimate Gymnastics in St. Cloud and quickly realized she had a fierce passion and love for this sport.

Kyleigh started at a Level 1 gymnast and is now working on a Level 5/6 at only six years old!  She has spent the last year working as hard as she can and being 100% dedicated to doing what she loves, training three to four days a week at the gym and always practicing in her home with her proud parents and family watching every day. She has BIG dreams and wakes up each day ready to be the very best she can be and with new goals for her gymnastic journey and a huge smile. She even asked to be home-schooled shortly after starting gymnastics because she wanted more time to be able to train and has remained an A student to this day. Kyleigh’s dream is to be in the Olympics one day and at the rate she is progressing, she very well just may be!

Rachel Guard, Kyleigh’s coach and co-owner of Ultimate Gymnastics since 2016, says “Ky impresses me daily. Her natural talent is apparent, but what is more impressive is her work ethic and drive at such a young age. Her love for gymnastics and life shines through at every practice. She works hard to hold her own with the big girls and she succeeds. I have faith that Kyleigh will succeed in whatever she chooses to do in life. Right now, the path that she has chosen is gymnastics and she truly is “Ultimate” and I love that I get to help her on her journey.”

Kyleigh has also been hand-selected, alongside eleven other girls from the gym due to their hard work and dedication, to represent our country and the Ultimate team in an International gymnastics competition, which will be held in Pembroke, Malta this July. The Gymstars International Invitation will be an amazing opportunity for Kyleigh and her teammates and the chance of a life time! She will be the youngest competitor in her gym going and a dream come true.

Her team at Ultimate Gymnastics in St. Cloud, which has a history of State Champions (with 21 in 2018 along with 7 champions at Regionals) will be the first American team to compete in this competition.
