Veterans Tribute and Museum of Osceola County

The Museum is hosting a Celebratory Event in recognition of National Month of the Military Child on Saturday, April 15th from 10 am to 2 pm. All Osceola County families and visitors are cordially invited to attend.

April is designated as the Month of the Military Child, underscoring the important role military children play in the armed forces community. Sponsored by the Department of Defense Military Community and Family Policy, the Month of the Military Child is a time to applaud military families and their children for the daily sacrifices they make and the challenges they overcome.

The Month of the Military Child is part of the legacy left by former Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger. He established the Defense Department commemoration in 1986.

“Purple Up! For Military Kids” will be celebrated Saturday, April 15th. This is a day for the communities to wear purple to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. Purple symbolizes the combined colors of all branches of the military-Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red, and Navy blue.

Activities will include an Easter Egg Hunt for children 12 years of age and under. A Magic Show, featuring Magic Don, which will begin at 10:15 am. Prizes and Giveaways. Food and Drink will be available and other surprise events are planned.
