Released By City of Kissimmee
Due to recent and frequent rain events, repairs to the Mill Slough Park including the KUA Cumbie Canine Court located at 2138 Agate Street have been delayed. The temporary closure of the park and Canine Court will now continue into July.
The City of Kissimmee Commission approved on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, the acceptance of $1,434,974.25 in federal grant funding that has been awarded to assist with the design and construction of the Mill Slough Restoration Project. This restoration is due to the damaged caused by Hurricane Irma in 2017.
This grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Emergency Watershed Protection Program will provide funding assistance in removing silt and debris, and restore the natural function of the Mill Slough.
