The Healthy Start Coalition of Osceola County, in partnership with the City of Kissimmee, will be hosting the 2019 Youth and Family Summit on Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at the Kissimmee Civic Center in downtown Kissimmee.
Developed by the Healthy Start Coalition of Osceola County, this free event is designed to provide information to community youth and their families on relevant safety issues and best practices that can directly impact the health and safety of our tweens and teens.
Topics and speakers will include the safety and use of Practices of Social Media with Osceola County Sheriff’s Deputy Froelich; Healthy Teen Dating emphasizing safety and other expectations presented by HELP NOW youth; Audrey Spataro will present Bullying and Suicide Prevention, offering guidance to teens and families about this important topic. There will be a presentation by Detective Lori Fiorino, with the Orlando Police Department, about Human Trafficking and how to protect teens from exploitation and educate families on this danger. In addition, the featured speaker is Paige Giese with the National Alliance of Mental Illness of Greater Orlando presenting on “Ending the Silence.”
