Father and Grandmother Arrested for Assisting Inmate Escape
Early on the morning of Feb. 21, 2010, Osceola County Sheriff's detectives arrested Brian Rigby and charged him with Escape in connection with Michael Rigby, his son's escape on February 19, 2010, from the Osceola County Jail. He is being held on no bond.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 22, 2010, Osceola County Sheriff's detectives arrested Regenia Ralph and charged her with Escape in connection with Michael Rigby, her grandson's escape on February 19, 2010, from the Osceola County Jail. She is being taken to the Osceola County Jail to be held on no bond.
During the investigation, Sheriff's detectives discovered after escaping from the jail, Rigby ran to his grandmother's residence located at 2253 Stonehedge Loop, just miles from the corrections facility. When detectives first questioned Ralph, she denied knowing her grandson had escaped and also when she saw him last. It was later learned Ralph gave Rigby money, a change of clothes and food before contacting her son, Brian Rigby who provided Michael Rigby with money and a vehicle.
Based on information detectives obtained, they do not believe he is in Florida. They also have reason to believe he may be with a girlfriend from out-of-state. Michael Rigby might be driving a red, four-door Mitsubishi Mirage with black rims and tinted windows with possible Tennessee tag #4H15251.
Rigby is described as a black male, approximately 5’11”, 170 lbs. Anyone with information is asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff's Office at or Crimeline at (800) 423-TIPS (8477). Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous and tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 dollars.
